Its a Bird...Its a Plane...its an iPhone?!

As promised, I have returned to share our exciting presents to each other! Let me just tell you, I never knew I could love "fruit" so much...let me explain. No, in fact, let me know just show you what fruit I am talking about.

Yes my friends, that is an APPLE..as in an Apple iPhone

See, my love for all things Apple started 5 years ago when I received my very first iPod. While iPods had been around for awhile, I actually got one of the first VIDEO iPods. That thing has seen so much love over the years. Josh and I take it everywhere. It has taken a trip to Paris, Norway, and even to Aruba for our honeymoon. The poor thing is ready for retirement. Speaking of retirement, my old Samsung phone that I got before J and I were even married (meaning well over 2 years ago) was so beyond retirement. That thing held on quite well for that amount of time, but in the days of having no landlines, it was quite necessary for me to have a reliable phone at my disposal. So between my serious need for a reliable phone, and Josh's need for a phone that could handle his real estate career, it was time to make a trip to the Apple store in Bridgeport.

Yes, we realize there are other Apple stores...but this one happens to be my favorite. Why, you ask? Simple. Whenever we go I always end up getting to take side trips into my favorite stores...ZGallerie, Anthropologie, Crate and Barrel, Container Store, and of course Lexie Dog (for those ever important Bella gifts). That list could go on forever, that place is by far the best place on Earth.

Some purchases that inspired some future posts

Josh telling me to "wait a minute" while he talks on his iPhone (totally staged in case you couldn't tell)

After our absolutely fabulous purchases we made a side trip to Woodburn Outlets. We went with the intention of getting some work clothes (which we did...somewhat), but unfortunately after lunch I got sick and we had to rush home. That didn't stop us from having some fun with pumpkins. I actually purchased three tiny pumpkins for a craft project that I just completed (pictures to come later).

Ginormous punkin'

Ok, well the hubby and I are itching to get back to our beloved iPhones. We actually already had a discussion about needing to schedule "us" time so we don't spend all our time with our new phones. What is this world coming to?! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Where oh where has my lil brain gone?!

In all of my excitement to get the last post up, I forgot to include two pictures of my beautiful girls at the Race. I actually took them while walking backwards...I know, I am just that talented. Here they are!

For those who are unaware of what ANTM stands for, just Google it. Images of Tyra should be swarming.

Wow, aren't my friends just gorgeous?! I think so!

Guess what?! Tomorrow Josh and I are going out to buy each other presents! We are actually getting each other the same thing...his is just a bit...upgraded from mine. This is something we have been saving our pennies for and cannot wait to hold it in my hands all day long. Those are just a few hints...pictures to come later.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Finding a Cure

Alright, here is my attempt at a second blog post! I hope it lives up to all of your great expectations...just don't hold your breath. I do want to preface the following post with a word about the photos in this post. Unfortunately my camera and computer are not loving me right now and they seem to want to do their own thing whenever I try to use them. That being said, the quality of the photos is not something I am proud of, but the content is what's important in this post so I am telling myself to just deal with it. Alright, now that I have cleared that up I can continue on in peace.

Last Sunday some friends and I participated in Race for the Cure. This wasn't our first race, in fact our first was way back in 2005. The reason why this was so significant is because one of my longtime friends, Michelle, had learned just a short time before that her mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Michelle and her mom are both wonderful people and I can say that I would do anything to help them. When Michelle mentioned Race for the Cure us girls jumped at the chance. Now, in 2009, I am extremely happy to say Michelle's mom is a breast cancer survivor!! Going to the race is always so humbling because you realize how many people are affected by breast cancer. My prayers go out to all of the people that have had to go through the pain, the turmoil, and sometimes even the loss.

This year at the Portland race they estimated over 40,000 participants. All I know is there were a whole lot of people!

I will leave you with one very fun fact. At our first race in 2005 I actually met the girl who would start dating my younger brother a year later and then marry him three years later. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MY BEAUTIFUL SISTER-IN-LAW!! What? It's not that weird to celebrate a 4 year anniversary with your brother's wife. Totally normal. Really. I promise.

Just for fun...here is a picture of her and my little brother!

Welcome Welcome

Why, hello there and thank you for stopping by! It has taken me quite some time to figure out exactly how to introduce a new blog. Do you immediately just start blogging, or do you take time to explain to your (count them...zero) readers why you are even taking the time to ramble about your life on this here blog? Well, I don't know the answer to that...so I am just going to do what I do best, a little bit of everything! I started this blog so that I could share some things about me, my love for houses, interior design, cooking, oh and don't forget the occasional crafting. Ok erase all that...the truth is I didn't feel right starting a blog because I didn't have a baby or a house to brag about. All that I've got is me, the other half of me, and the smallest version of me. In short there is me, my husband, and my teeny tiny dachshund.

I will take just a moment to rant. Who chose to name the long skinny short-legged creature a dachshund? I mean...I pride myself on my spelling (I think that was the only subject I actually was good at in school)...but even I have to wonder how they came up with such a difficult name. Just saying... Well don't you worry, a quick trip to Google and I will have my answer. Oh just my luck, the trusty Wikipedia has already answered my question! Apparently it means "badger dog" Interesting... <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:1; mso-generic-font-family:roman; mso-font-format:other; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:0 0 0 0 0 0;} @font-face {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:swiss; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:-1610611985 1073750139 0 0 159 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-unhide:no; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; margin-top:0in; margin-right:0in; margin-bottom:10.0pt; margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {mso-style-priority:99; color:blue; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; color:purple; mso-themecolor:followedhyperlink; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; mso-default-props:yes; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} .MsoPapDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; margin-bottom:10.0pt; line-height:115%;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --Ok, enough with that. Let me introduce our "doxie" Miss Isabella "Bella" Crain...isn't she a beauty?

Back to me. See, the truth is I became a serious blog-stalker...no I mean really. Certain bloggers have become household names around these parts. I am always running to tell the hubby who renovated what in their house, who's having a baby...you know, just like I would for my real friends (yes folks, I have them!). Anyway, my husband, Joshua (see below) told me that it didn't matter if I had a house or a baby; the truth is I owe it to the blogging community to get a little more involved. So, here I am. Oh, that's me, next to Joshua.

Well, thank you for taking the time to visit! I promise to have much less text next time and much more fun stuff. I have things already planned out (recipes, crafts, fun photos) so keep checking back!
